Announcing Mentoring Program for Young Men




Chris Sain Jr. an entrepreneur, best selling author, top 40 under 40 business leader, social media influencer with over a quarter million followers on Facebook & Instagram combined and youth empowerment speaker among many other things launched his latest venture, a mentoring program for young men focusing on tech and economic empowerment. 

I wanted to do something different. Something that has never been done. I want to introduce young men to purpose. I speak around the country therefore I know hundreds of young men around the country. What sets me apart from most mentors is the fact I text and talk to young guys daily. I am accessible...not to everybody but to them. The same is true for the young men in my city. I interact with hundreds of young men in my community throughout the week. Every week. I can relate to the struggle better than most. But even more importantly, they trust me. I live what I talk about. I embody who they aspire to be.

The youth in my community are special. Many are fatherless, some need guidance and others need direction. Because they are special I wanted to do something special for them and that is why I created this initiative. I wanted to restore hope, birth vision and let them know its okay to dream again. I will show them and teach them how to be owners and how to be shareholders among many other things. 

The Chris Sain Jr. Mentoring Program for Young Men has two life changing components; The Summer Leadership Institute and The Empowerment Weekend.

Summer Leadership Institute

The Summer Leadership Institute is a five day program designed for a minimum of 25 youth who are fatherless and are primarily raised in a single parent female headed household between the ages of 14-18. The cohort model consist of highly engaging activities as well as discussions around topics such as financial literacy, manhood, investing, education, social injustice, technology, stocks, social media, peer pressure, equity and diversity. Young men will meet daily from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. hear from various speakers from various industries and have the chance to cultivate relationships with community leaders, business owners, law enforcement, entrepreneurs, celebrities and professional athletes. At the conclusion of the week long program, young men will participate in a graduation ceremony geared toward celebrating their success and preparing them for their future.



Empowerment Weekend

The Empowerment Weekend is a one day event designed purposefully for 8-18 year old males primarily from single parent female headed households. The purpose is to share and teach the principles of manhood and wealth building through financial education, technology and team building activities. The Empowerment Weekend helps young men realize their potential and envision a future where they are owners and shareholders and are physically and emotionally equipped to be responsible and productive young men.

This Empowerment Weekend includes a host of workshops that focus on financial literacy, stocks, investing, personal responsibility, and the importance of creating wealth. In addition, the participants are introduced to positive male role models who are leaders in various areas, including business, their communities, athletics and law enforcement. Registered Dietitians will talk with young men about the importance of nutrition, healthy eating, fitness and healthy living.

Requirements

  •          Residents of Grand Rapids, Mich. And surrounding areas
  •          Between the ages of 8-18
  •         Being raised in a single family home
  •          Mother/Guardian of applicant required to attend the Parent Meet & Greet 
To fund his vision, Chris has an initial fundraising goal of $10,000 to support the young men and both efforts. After that, his goal is to partner with investment firms and public companies to have shares donated as he engages foundations, community foundations, nonprofits, schools and other agencies geared toward serving youth between the ages of 8-18.

I am certain that over the course of his lifetime he earned well over a million dollars. I am not at all saying he or we, as a family were millionaires, in fact we were your average, maybe above average middle class family, but his business acumen took him very far in life as a businessman.   Me on the other hand had no business acumen.
